Head of Projects for Interim Reparative Measures

Karine Bonneau is responsible for developing and coordinating Global Survivors Fund’s (GSF) interim reparative measure projects, co-created with survivors and implemented with civil society organisations around the globe. 

Throughout her career as human rights and international criminal law lawyer Karine has focused on victims’ rights to justice and reparation. Prior to joining GSF, she was the Director of the International Justice Desk at the International Federation for Human Rights, where she documented international crimes, including conflict-related sexual violence, led trainings for civils society organisations and supported accountability and litigation mechanisms in Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. She previously worked with different human rights organisations such as Codepu-Chile, Amnesty International, and Redress -Trust. She participated in the creation of the International Criminal Court and shaping its unique mandate on victims’ rights. She was invited as a reparation expert before the International Criminal Court in the Bosco Ntaganda case.  She holds a PhD on reparation and authored various publications in the field of human rights, international criminal law, and reparation.
